Vreemde zeemeermin in het blauw

This work juxtaposes human and maritime elements, creating a fascinating hybrid figure.
Against an azure background stands the silhouette of a woman, whose upper body has been replaced by a vibrant fish with multicolored hues reminiscent of an underwater rainbow.
Her slender legs form a striking contrast to the dreamlike strangeness of her transformation. The textures of the body provide visual depth, while the side fins suggest fluidity and movement.

This artistic fusion challenges the boundaries between species and explores themes of duality and cultural blending. The work invites reflection on identity and nature, harmoniously combining beauty with the strange.
A true ode to originality and creativity, which takes the viewer into a surreal universe and invites them to rethink form and function.

Mixed media on 89 x 116 x 2 cm canvas, acrylic paint, paper transfer, and oil paint.
