This work masterfully brings together contradictory elements to captivate the viewer. In a color palette of blues and browns, a figure appears with its head replaced by that of a fish, an intriguing metamorphosis that is both alienating and fascinating. The outstretched arms suggest a precarious yet harmonious balance.
Above, a fish with human legs floats horizontally, defying gravity, which creates a surprising symmetry. In the foreground, a glass bottle with a narrow neck introduces a subtle contrast between artificiality and naturalness.
The checkered texture in the background is reminiscent of old wallpaper, evoking a nostalgic and slightly absurdist atmosphere. The artist plays here with themes of transformation and the absurd, a clear ode to surrealism.
Mixed media on canvas, 120 x 120 cm.
