Rotterdam And me 3

By Marian Williams - Rotterdam Et moi 3

From the exhibition 'Et moi, et moi, et moi', in which three female artists present their personal mythologies in search of the key to their true essence. The story is about Marian Williams' family and her roots in Rotterdam.

‘Rotterdam et moi 3’ is a mixed media composition on canvas; a transfer collage finished with paper collage, oil paint, pastels, and marker.
The composition contains two illustrations with ragged edges.

The work shows a dreamscape in which reality and fantasy merge. The bicycle, a symbol of freedom and travel, is central and evokes memories of the artist's past adventures.
Elements from nature blend in subtly, referring to memories and growth. This piece is a surreal dialogue between the present and the transient, and invites you to find your own path within its layers.
