Man is a transfer collage from the Retro Fantastic series. The original analog collage was mirrored, enlarged, printed, and transferred onto canvas, after which the work was finished with acrylic paint, markers, and pastels.

The series was created for the Retro Fantastic exhibition at the Dutch Design Hotel in Amsterdam. Images from the sixties are confronted here with the reality of those so-called good old days. The article incorporated into this work is from a 1967 issue of Look Magazine, in which Patricia Coffin writes a column against women's emancipation and urges men to become the head of their households again. The faceless model comes from a French magazine from the sixties. The collage transfer technique gives the work an authentic, vintage, and weathered appearance.

Mixed media on canvas of 120 x 120 cm, collage transfer and paint, acrylic paint, glue, paper, ink, pen, pastel chalk, and felt-tip pens.

Signed, varnished, and delivered with a certificate of authenticity.
