Claude Cousyn’s artistic journey is rooted in his personal history, from his heritage and childhood to his family and social environment. From this emerged conscious choices such as his training at the École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Nice and his professional experiences in communication, publishing, and printing, which refined his perspective and expanded his resources. His travels and encounters opened up new horizons and nourished his creativity.

After thirty years as a graphic designer in the South of France, he now dedicates himself freely to drawing, painting, and creating volumes. His work explores visual language, signs as concepts, myths, and chimeras, with a focus on the mystery of living things and the cycles, rhythms, and metamorphoses of nature. Inspired by “primitive” art, he often combines multiple techniques such as acrylics, photography, collage, pastel, digital design, and engraving.

For Cousyn, art is a game, a space for freedom, pleasure, and wonder. His works emerge intuitively and experimentally, sometimes as a form of therapy. Current events influence his body of work and transform into subtle narratives full of irony, humor, and poetry, visible in both his paintings and collages.
